For almost 20 years, the Kiwanis Club of Homestead-South Dade has worked with a special team we lovingly call our VIP (Very Important People) group. ![]()

One participant in particular is Benji, a joyful and competitive young man. From supporting his and his team’s soccer program for many years dating back to 2005, now he and his friends enjoy summer bowling sessions, every other weekend, inside air conditioning. ![]()

Not only do we enjoy seeing the joy on their faces like Benji’s, but we really appreciate the commitment of their family members who care for them day in and day out, as well as be the team’s head coach! With all they do, the least we can do is treat some VIP families to a few hours of joy every once in a while. ![]()

This Good Friday, with an inspiring message by Rev. Dr. Audrey Warren titled Losing and Finding Jesus, along with praise and worship led by Soloist Becki Thomas and Crossbridge Church band, and complete with a delicious breakfast served by the GFWC Women’s club, the Kiwanis Club of Homestead-South Dade hosted the 49th Annual Community Prayer Breakfast joining together people of all cultures and faiths for our common witness in the Supreme Being of God and the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. ![]()
